Guntersville Municipal Airport Runway Update
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the airport on Saturday, June 20, 2015 for the opening of the first 4,000 feet of the new 5,001-foot runway and new hangars at the airport. The construction of the final 1,000 feet will begin in August. Congratulations to the City of Guntersville and to the Guntersville Aviation Community!

ACA 2015 Federal Legislative Agenda Update
Several members of the Aviation Council of Alabama (ACA) Board of Directors recently traveled to Washington, DC, to meet with legislators and discuss the ACA’s 2015 ACA AGENDA SUMMARY. The agenda was developed at the ACA 2015 Alabama Airport Workshop and Legislative Reception with input solicited from ACA’s membership. Board members met with representatives from all seven Alabama congressional offices, both Alabama senate offices, and Federal Aviation Administration Headquarters to discuss aviation issues that are important to airports of all types and sizes throughout the state including FAA funding, small community air service, proposed air traffic control user fees, the Pilot’s Bill of Rights 2, contract tower funding and the adverse impact of sequestration.
